Paul Newman plays boxer Rocky Graziano in this bio-pic that captured 2 Oscars. There are great stacks of Schlitz, Hamm’s, Budweiser, Pabst Blue Ribbon and Goetz Pale cases. There’s also a row of neon signs that include Rheingold, Ruppert Knickerbocker, Schaefer and a partial Bud.

Young Man With A Horn (1950)

Kirk Douglas is a boozy trumpet player whose career will end on a sour note if he doesn’t sober up. We get a great Ruppert sign in the middle of Times Square in New York City and an outstanding Budweiser ‘Preferred Everywhere’ giant sign. I don’t know about that bottle on the bar.

Call Northside 777 (1948)

Late 1940’s Chicago is the backdrop for this James Stewart drama that features some outstanding indoor and outdoor signs. Schlitz, Kingsbury, Hamm’s, Ruppert and Budweiser are all represented. We’re also treated to a great Fox DeLuxe neon and cash register bar back. If that wasn’t enough, we’re graced with appearances from the ultra rare Nectar Beer on three different signs. …
