‘Stay classy San Diego’. Will Ferrell leads a great cast with great beers in this newsroom comedy. Highlights include ‘Ron’ with a 24 oz Tall Boy can of Schlitz and Danny Trejo with a great Pabst Blue Ribbon vintage sign. There’s also Budweiser and Michelob neon on display.
Excellent movie, cast and beer placement. Will Ferrell shines in Pabst shirt with Old Style can on top of the ‘Red Dragon’. He also appears with an array of cans that 70’s can collectors will remember. Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson and Jeremy Piven also contribute and we get Patrick “Blue” Cranshaw with a can of Corona.
Title characters Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly appear with a great Corona Light parrot neon in this under appreciated comedy. There’s also a Chewbacca with a Heineken sighting for all you ‘Star Wars’ buffs.
Where’s Tonya Harding with a collapsible metal baton when you need her? Will Ferrell usually comes up big here at ‘Beers on Film’, but this figure skating film with a beerless Jon Heder let us down on many levels. Apparently actual beer companies were afraid to be associated with this flop as only a fictitious brand is spotted.
