Johnny Be Good (1988)

Anthony Michael Hall outgrows his days as ‘Rusty Griswold’ and becomes a prized college quarterback recruit. The party scene features bottles of Lone Star. The liquor store provides us with cases, a door decal, neon sign and an oversized inflatable bottle of the Texas brew. There’s also Stroh’s, Bud Light and Miller High Life and Lite neons.

A classic comedy with some great beer sightings. Chevy Chase leads the Griswold clan across the country on a quest for fun to Wally World. Suburban Chicago is the setting for this John Hughes directed high school romantic comedy. Anthony Michael Hall and John Cusack appear with an excellent ‘Beer-a-myd’ constructed of Special Export, Blatz and Old Style & O.S.Light cans. A neck braced Joan Cusack is also spotted in one of the many Old Style scenes.
